In August and September, I spent many quiet, peaceful mornings on the water. One morning, while casting my line, I heard a rustling behind me. I turned slowly and was surprised to find an otter staring at me from just five feet away. He and his companion played in the water for nearly an hour while I fished, splashing and tumbling in the calm morning light.

For me, the otter has come to symbolize work-life balance. It’s a tireless worker, but it also has this remarkable sense of joy and playfulness. Always moving with energy, but never losing its positive spirit. It’s a reminder to find the balance in our own lives—work hard, but remember to take time to enjoy the little moments.
